Zinburger-1-2

Every now and then I step out to have a taste of Atlanta dining. Whenever I do dine at an establishment that I enjoy, I will share my experience with you. Recently I attended a private tasting with my fellow Atlanta Food Blogger Society Members at Zinburger Wine and Burger Bar, a gourmet burger restaurant that has a full bar and wine menu. Located in the exclusive Buckhead neighborhood, I expected it to be quite posh and this place didn’t disappoint. IMG_20150703_100145There are quite a few upscale burger joints in the Atlanta area so I was curious to see what made this different from the rest. After glancing over the menu, I was a bit surprised at the prices, as it was very affordable. There are a wide variety of burgers which ranged in price from $9-$15; keep in mind that the $15 burgers were made of Ahi tuna and Kobe beef. In addition to the burgers, there are salads, appetizers, handmade shakes and pies on the menu. Zinburger-1-5

We started the night with a glass of house made Sangria. We started with the appetizers and salads. I loved the zucchini fries, it was lightly breaded, crispy and dusted with parmesan cheese; this was clearly a crowd favorite. I tried a variety of burgers such as the Zinburger, Blanco burger and the Kobe burger. IMG_20150625_193025While all were good, I highly recommend the El Diablo burger; the perfectly cooked Angus beef, which is topped with fire roasted jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, braised onions and chipotle mayo, simply melts in your mouth. I also loved the Ahi Tuna burger surprisingly as I’m not the worlds’ biggest fan of seared tuna, but this was perfectly cooked and was topped avocado, tamari glaze, mayo and coleslaw.Zinburger-1-6 The extensive burger menu has a something for every taste bud but there’s also the option to build your own burger!
We ended the night with sweet treats that were out of this world. I love a good, thick milkshake and Zinburger makes a darn good milk shake that’s topped with fresh whipped cream! Zinburger-1-3They also offer a chocolate cream pie and a banana cream pie that’s too die for. For just $5 you are served a ¼ of a pie! Yes that’s right and folks, it is rich. The chocolate cream pie has a chocolate ganache filling in an oreo crust, topped with fresh whipped cream! This pie is definitely for sharing. While I’m not a fan of fresh bananas but do like the flavor, I took a tiny bite of the banana cream pie and it was amazing. IMG_20150625_200323

Zinburger Wine and Burger Bar has a solid menu with something for everyone. I love that I can have a “grown up burger” while enjoying a glass of wine and my son can have something that appeals to his tastes buds. It’s a great restaurant for an afternoon bite with the family! Thank you to Zinburger for your generosity.
