Ingredients

  • 8-10 lbs bone-in ham
  • 1 can coca cola
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup ginger preserves or 1 tbsp grated ginger

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Mix brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, red pepper flakes and ginger preserves in a small pot cook for 3-5 minutes until the sugar dissolves and it becomes liquid.  Then remove from heat and set aside.
  • Trim ham of excess fat and cut into a diamond pattern. If using a spiral cut ham, do not slice into diamond pattern. Place ham into a large roasting pan and pour coca cola into pan.
  • Pour ¼ of glaze over ham.  Cover pan with foil and place into preheated oven. Cook for 15 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F.
  • Remove from ham from oven then remove the foil.
  • Turn the oven up to 350 degrees.
  • Stick whole cloves into the ham, cover with remaining glaze and then place back into the oven and roast for an additional 15 minutes.  Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
